These six mind-skin rituals are supporting women through and during the Menopause. Healthista spoke to Clementine founder Kim Palmer
No7 – the UK’s number one skincare brand – has collaborated with innovative cognitive hypnotherapy app, Clementine, to create six, free to access mind-skin rituals for women going through menopause.
These new digital rituals work in tandem with the new No7 menopause range and are designed, tested and proven to help menopausal women feel more comfortable and positive in themselves and their skin.
The Clementine app which uses cognitive hypnotherapy, makes it easier for women to incorporate self-care and skin-care into their busy schedules.
Similarly, our Healthista Menopause Pack, £34.99 has been designed specifically to help women make their transition through menopause as easy as possible, with seven experts offering their advice in bite-sized video chunks, plus recipes, workouts and more.

Kim Palmer is the CEO and Founder of the hypnotherapy app Clementine which was launched originally in 2017. A workaholic, Kim held a top job in marketing for 15 years. When she was pregnant with her first child, one of her female colleagues said: ‘If you want to get to the next level, do it before kids’.
Kim felt the social pressure, and instead of slowing down she hit the ground running, and found herself suffering from panic attacks.
Because of this, Kim sought help through counselling, meditation and mindfulness and finally discovered hypnotherapy.
As part of her sessions, she took home recorded sessions on her ‘phone’. This inspired and led to the creation of her app Clementine, which helps women feel calmer and better equipped to cope with everyday life.
Today, 140k people have downloaded Clementine, 90 per cent of them women.

The hypnotherapy sessions available on the Clementine app can be used to boost confidence or help with sleep by guided relaxation, similar to daydreaming, it also suggests new ways to better deal with everyday grievances.
‘We are beyond excited to partner with the UK’s No1 skincare brand, to create a disruptive new way for women to engage with skincare, that will leave them feeling better in their minds as well as their skin,’ says Kim Palmer, founder of Clementine.
‘As a female lead team, we want to partner with brands that share our mission ‘to create a world where every woman believes she can do anything she puts her mind to’.

‘To do that, we need to take self-care off our to-do lists and build it into the products and services that women consume every day.
‘We can’t wait to build new skincare solutions and experiences that will have a lasting impact on women’s skin, their mindsets and their overall confidence’.
A new, holistic approach to menopause, the rituals use a combination of the sensory power of skincare application, via a guided facial massage, with the power of hypnotherapy.
The six Mind-skin rituals include…
#1 The Confidence Ritual
Designed to empower you to seize the day and shine. It encourages the belief that you can control how you show up each day and it inspires you to feel positive about what the day may bring.
The ritualistic movements used can encourage the natural lymphatic flow. Poor lymphatic flow can be responsible for congestion and puffiness.
Pressure should be light and fluid, as overstimulating the skin could result in redness.
Hypnotherapy technique – following the facial massage, the hypnotherapist runs through a series of positive statements for you to repeat out loud that encourage positivity and confidence.
Try this ritual at least three times a week for a month, and then as needed.

The ritualistic movements used in the ritual can encourage the natural lymphatic flow. Poor lymphatic flow can be responsible for congestion and puffiness. Pressure should be light and fluid.

Try it least 3 times a week for a month and then as and when needed.
#3 The Cooling Ritual
Proven to help you regain a sense of control after a hot flush, by helping to calm the mind and cool the skin.
This ritual can be used alongside the wonderful No7 Cooling Facial Mist, £14.95. The cooling ritual uses a relaxation technique, that starts by taking deep soothing breaths to help reduce tension in the body.
Hypnotherapy technique – following the deep breaths, the hypnotherapist uses a drop-through technique to help ease the listener into a calmer state. The technique helps the listener see that they have control over the way they feel.
Use this session after a hot flush or when you just want to feel cool, calm and collected. The ritual is designed so that listeners could feel the results after the first use; feeling cooler, calmer and more in control.
Try this as and when needed.

#5 The Sleep Ritual
This ritual is designed to help you let go of everyday stress and prepare for a better night’s sleep.
The session has also been designed to help you reframe the menopause by recognising the value of your experience and instils the belief that tomorrow is within your control to make it whatever you want it to be.
Throughout the day, our facial muscles are worked with every expression and emotion, and can hold onto a lot of tension.
The ritualistic movements help to relieve this tension and can encourage the natural lymphatic flow. Poor lymphatic flow can be responsible for congestion and puffiness. Pressure should be light and fluid.

Try this at least three times a week for a month, and then when needed.
