MYTH#1 ‘Taking HRT is bad for your health’
HRT in fact has wider health benefits such as reducing risk of osteoporosis, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, clinical depression, bowel cancer and in some cases, dementia. For the majority of women, the benefits of taking HRT outweigh any risks.

The ‘perimenopause’ is the period of time leading up to the menopause when symptoms start and periods usually change in nature or frequency.
Symptoms of perimenopause include brain fog, period changes, hot flushes, mood changes, loss of sexual desire, joint and muscle pains and vaginal and urinary symptoms.
Hormone Replacement Therapy is most effective when it is started during the perimenopause, or at least within 10 years of the menopause.
MYTH #3 ‘Does HRT cause breast cancer?’
Most types of body identical HRT have not been shown to be associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Any risk has been with older types of HRT and has not been shown to be statistically significant.
